Competition overview
The VEX IQ Robot Competition Rapid Relay takes place on a rectangular field of 6 feet by 8 feet, as configured above. Two robots form an alliance and take on team challenges in a 60-second team match, working together to score points.
Teams will also take part in a robotics skills challenge, in which one robot enters the field to score as many points as possible. These include driving skills competitions, which are fully controlled by the driver, and auto-coding skills competitions, which will be conducted automatically and have limited human-machine interaction.
Venue Details:
The scoring object in the Rapid Relay of the VEX IQ Robotics Competition is a padded ball, about 6 inches in diameter.
The main goal of the game is to pass the ball between the robots, score the ball through the target, and empty the switch. The ball is introduced to the field via the loading station or the last 15 seconds of the game, through the express loading area.
Points are awarded based on the number of goals scored, the number of switches cleared, and the number of times the league successfully passes the ball before scoring.
